Objective
The primary objective is to assist in managing treasury operations efficiently, focusing on delivering exemplary service to the university community while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management:
- Supervise two treasury analysts, ensuring their effective performance.
- Allocate tasks and manage the treasury mailbox, ensuring all inquiries receive timely responses within a 5-day Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Provide guidance and support to maintain accurate FX rates in financial ledgers.
- Lead by example to uphold university principles and foster a culture of responsibility and accountability.
- Set annual objectives aligned with finance goals and track achievements through performance reviews.
- Policy and Procedure Development:
- Collaborate with the Treasury and Commercial Manager to document and update cash and treasury policies continually.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for treasury matters with Accounts Payable and Receivable teams.
- Manage relationships with operational banks to ensure timely resolution of transactional queries.
- Reconciliations and Reporting:
- Prepare bank reconciliations for high-volume transactional accounts, investigating discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in monthly reconciliations for investment accounts and other financial instruments.
- Compile and validate data for external reporting requirements, such as audits and regulatory filings.
- Generate and refine data for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to financial reporting and team performance.
- Financial Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with the university’s financial covenants related to private placement bonds.
- Manage the timely calculation and reporting of financial covenant compliance.
- Coordinate bi-annual bond interest payments and other financial obligations.
- Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
- Assist in providing essential information to both internal and external auditors.
- Maintain records for insurance purposes within the Finance Office.
Knowledge/Qualifications:
- Detailed understanding of financial procedures and Treasury Management policies.
- Proficiency in banking operations and management information systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Skills:
- Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills to convey financial processes clearly to stakeholders.

- Experience with Agresso accounting software.
- Previous work experience in treasury operations.
Terms and Conditions:
- Grade 6 position with an annual salary range of £32,332 to £36,024.
- Full-time employment (35 hours per week) with open-ended tenure.
